Like a locked diary, your personal details shouldn’t be handed out to strangers on the phone. When a call arrives from +448000232635 claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions, treat it as a verification step first. Ask for a call‑back number on an official letter or log into your online DWP account before sharing any personal data. Be wary of urgent language or promises of “good news” – these are common pressure tactics. Record the call, note the time and content, and report suspicious numbers to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Keeping a sceptical stance protects you from identity theft and unauthorised data use.

This number rang me out of the blue, but I couldn't identify who it was. No message left, just silence. Feels dodgy, so I blocked it straight away.
It's one of the numerous numbers that the DWP use to call you before making a desision about your claim, they say it's a "courtesy call" but actualy it's to try and catch you out, perfectley safe to answer if you have nothing to hide, but no need to answer because it's just a "courtesy call"

Following a phone call and completion of a questionnaire, it appears this number is used to assess eligibility for a severe disability grant, which seems legitimate after verifying the official number provided in a letter
Recieving a call on a Saturday when offices are closed seems strange. I'll call them back Monday at 8am to verify.

I received a call from them once, but they never followed up with another call or a letter, and when I contacted the DWP, they had no record of it, which raises serious suspicions and suggests a scam, so I would warn others to be extremely cautious and not disclose any personal details
