Like a locked diary, your personal details shouldn’t be handed out to strangers on the phone. When a call arrives from +448000232635 claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions, treat it as a verification step first. Ask for a call‑back number on an official letter or log into your online DWP account before sharing any personal data. Be wary of urgent language or promises of “good news” – these are common pressure tactics. Record the call, note the time and content, and report suspicious numbers to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Keeping a sceptical stance protects you from identity theft and unauthorised data use.

A local Jobcentre informed me that JSA/UC interviews will now be conducted over the phone again. They also told me when my first interview would be.
Claim details were checked, all good, no issues
DWP related call
Following my experiance, this number appears to be genuinly associated with DWP/UC, particually for those recieving Universal Credit
This number is completly safe to use
Picked up the call, but there was silence on the other end before it ended
A man rang me from 0800 023 2635. As a sex worker, I questioned him about the number he used. He claimed it was his personal number. It’s puzzling how an individual can use an 0800 number to contact sex workers. This needs looking into.

Following persistent harassment from the DWP during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have now blocked this number, and I believe they should cease their aggressive tactics and provide support without causing distress.
Having received two consecutive calls from this number, which may or may not be genuine, I opted not to answer, as it was not a recognized contact; to verify the authenticity of the call, I plan to contact the DWP using a phone number from a previous letter, rather than the one provided in the call, to avoid potential scams.
DWP calling about work and pensions matter. Official and trustworthy, as expected.
A voicemail was left requesting that certain tasks be completed in our journal after I missed the call

Apparently its regarding Universal Credite
Claimed to be from Universal Credit, but I couldn't verify it quickly. Asked for personal details I wasn't comfortable sharing. Proceed with caution.
I spoke with Universal Credit, they were very helpfull
Universal credit. Helpful people. They called because I reached out to them, so it's for security reasons.
This was a test call for my system. I work for DWP and was curious about the number, as it was unfamiliar. :)
Useful number to have
Had a work search interview here
This number is genuin, its from the Universal Credit people and they are legit
Warning: user has flagged this number for caution
The individuals I spoke with from this number, allegedly representing a job centre and universal credit, were quite pleasant and merely rang to discuss the benefits I'm entitled to, clearly not a case of fraud or telesales.
This number appears to be involved in a universal credit scam, exhibiting suspicious behaviour and attempting to deceive individuals in private, which raises significant doubts about its legitimacy
