Scam alert: Fake HSBC security calls explained - +44 345 266 9337 (0345 266 9337)
Summary — +443452669337
Expert Opinion
It’s odd how often a single number can be both genuine and a phishing front. The +44 345 266 9337 line appears to be used by HSBC’s official fraud team for transaction checks, but the same digits are regularly spoofed by scammers posing as bank agents. Callers may demand personal details or threaten account blockage – legitimate HSBC staff never ask for full passwords or PINs over the phone. When you receive an unexpected call, pause, note the caller ID and hang up before replying. Then dial the official number printed on your card or on the bank’s website to verify. Keep a log of any texts and avoid sharing any information until you’re certain of the source.

Almost certainly a scam
This number is associated with a HABC scam.
A person with a foreign accent claimed to be from M&S Bank. They suggested that if I felt uncomfortable answering security questions, I should call the number on the back of my card after hanging up. Yeah right, doing that would still link me to them! Definitely scammers looking for my security information.
This is undoubtedly a scam. Today, I’ve received 3 text messages and 3 calls from this number, urging me to contact them regarding a supposed fraudulent transaction linked to my HSBC account. When I called back, the automated message seemed authentic, but the call cut off when they answered. This happened twice. They then returned my call and immediately asked for my bank details. I expressed my suspicion of a scam, and they hung up right away. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP. USE THE HSBC NUMBER ON YOUR BANK CARD TO REPORT IT.
