Expert Opinion
It's clear that the caller, often identified as "Jeffrey," is part of a widespread scam operation. These scammers pose as process servers, claiming they have sealed documents that need your signature. They use your personal information, like your maiden name or the last four digits of your Social Security number, to make the call seem more credible. However, process servers don't call ahead to warn you, and they certainly don't threaten to "stalk" you. If you receive such a call, do not give them any information or call back. Block the number and report it to the FTC. Stay vigilant and never share personal details with unknown callers.

The experience described by Alicia is identical to mine. The individual, who claimed to be 'Jeffrey,' was rude and threatening, stating that he would make unannounced visits if I was not present between 12-3 pm. He requested that I provide two forms of identification and have a witness present. 'Jeffrey' claimed to be an 'agent' in my area and stated that a client needed to serve papers, allegedly due to a fake debt. They had obtained the last four digits of my social security number, which they used in conjunction with a dash in the number. Following this, 'Jeffrey' - likely a recorded message, based on my research - provided the number 888-385-0336, claiming it could be used to remove my number from their list. I advise against calling this number, and if you do, refrain from providing any information. These scammers are operating out of Florida and claim to be affiliated with several fake collection agencies, including ARS, which is actually a legitimate entity. Under no circumstances should you provide them with any personal information.

Apparently, a man named 'Jeffrey' contacted me, posing as a process server, and used my maiden name, which I've not used in over 15 years. He threatened to visit my home and even implied that he would 'stalk' me if I didn't respond, which I find laughable and a clear indication of a scam.
