Yesterday afternoon, a wave of messages from 833‑684‑0624 landed in many inboxes, claiming a new note in the MySocialSecurity Message Center. The texts mimic the look of official SSA communications and include a link to https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL, but the number is not owned by the Social Security Administration. Recipients should treat any unsolicited link as phishing and never enter personal data. Verify alerts by logging directly onto www.ssa.gov or calling the official SSA helpline. Block the sender, report the incident to the FTC and to SSA’s fraud‑prevention team, and educate friends about the personal data risk.

I also recieved the same text message, but i didnt log in to SSA, when i texted back BUSTED, it came back with a default help message, i never knew the SSA contacted people through text

After checking my SSa.gov account, I discovered that the communication from this number was fraudulent, so I reported it to the SSA and responded with a stern message.

Apparently, they sent me a txt sayin "You have a new message at mySocialSecurity in the Message Center. Log in at https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL to read it."

I was cautious upon receiving a text message from this number and decided to investigate further by searching it online.

A text message from +1 (833) 684-0624 included a link that appeared to be a sign-on page for Secure.ssa.gov, featuring the Social Security symbol, and the message was as follows:
I recieved several fake text messages, the contennt was totaly spam.
The message said i have a message from social security, and i should click to read it
On sunday night, i recieved a text claiming to be from the Rep payee message center, asking me to log in, but i know SSA dont send texts or ask for information over the phone, only letters are oficial
I was getting texts saying i had messages on my ssa profile, they wanted me to click a link but i didnt
