Unknown calls in Singapore
Unsure about a Singapore number? Explore concise community notes to judge calls and texts. You’ll see both legitimate callbacks (deliveries, banking, appointments) and waves of robocalls or phishing. Ranges like 6 (fixed lines) and 8/9 (mobile), plus 1800 toll‑free, are useful context but not proof of identity or exact location due to portability and VoIP — treat them as hints, not evidence.
Verification: return calls via the official number on the company website/app, check in‑app notices, and never share one‑time codes by phone. Use device/carrier blocking for repeat issues and leave a short, factual note here so others benefit from your experience.

A woman kept talking about Medisave insurance, calling from my company's registered handset. When I asked if she knew who she was contacting, she repeated policy changes and tried to extract personal details like SingPass. Stay alert and avoid her trap.
Inquiry about Medishield followed by an immediate hang‑up.
Junk!
An incoming call connected briefly, but the speaker vanished after a second. When I tried to return the call, I got a notice that the number is out of service.
I was told someone pretended to be from DBS bank, saying they'd opened a credit card in Guangzhou and that I owed money. I explained I've never visited China or opened any such account, but they claimed online opening is possible. If the bank allowed that without credit checking, that's on them, yet they insisted I travel to Guangzhou to file a police report. The lady seemed irrational. I've already reported previous scams that drained my account, and the bank should definately reimburse once they investigate and file a police report. Instead she demanded I do the report myself. It's frustrating dealing with such nonsense. At the end she argued, asking why I'm unpleasant to her. Would a respectable HR manager act like that? She claimed to call from DBS Marina. Some of my cousins work there. I was close to telling her to go to hell. Her obvious lies make me think she believes she can fool me—complete idiot.
Looks like spam, lol.
Got a spammy call, ugh.
I received a call about an HSBC personal loan yesterday, called back expecting it, rejected the offer, then got two more calls today which dropped when I answered.
This is junk.
