Imagine getting a call that knows your name but offers no clear reason—sounds like a classic telemarketing trap. The pattern here points to aggressive charity solicitations, especially from groups posing as the Cancer Society. They often hide behind vague scripts, pressure for donations, and claim you opted‑in via a survey you never took. If you receive such a call, don’t share personal details, ask for written verification, and request immediate removal from their call list. Block the number and lodge a complaint with the local consumer affairs office. Remember, legitimate charities will never demand payment over the phone without prior consent.
