Expert Opinion
Oddly enough, the same offshore prefix appears on dozens of complaints about a number claiming to be Mercury Energy. Most callers present themselves as offering special power deals, yet the scripts sound pre‑recorded and often end abruptly, a hallmark of robocalls and scam tactics. Under data‑protection law, you have the right to request removal of your details from unsolicited marketing lists and to lodge a complaint with the local privacy commissioner. Block the number on your device, avoid sharing personal info, and keep a log of call timestamps in case you need to provide evidence to your carrier or regulator.
