Ever wonder why you keep getting calls from +6448302938? Most reports point to aggressive energy‑related telemarketing, especially agents claiming to be from Genesis Energy. They often cite incomplete web forms or purchased leads, use personal details to sound legit, and push promotions or credit offers. Block the number via your carrier, register on the national do‑not‑call list, and never share banking info. If a caller claims a power outage or credit, verify independently through the official company website. Consider using call‑screening apps to filter unknown numbers and report persistent offenders to consumer protection agencies.

When I questioned the female caller from the NZ Herald about their offer of a free subscription, she became abrupt and hung up, which raised some red flags.
Upon reflection, it becomes apparent that Genesis Energy's tactic of collecting incomplete information from their website's signup page is a questionable practice. Despite not submitting the form, the company still managed to obtain the user's phone number, which was then used to make an unsolicited call. The caller's polite demeanor did little to alleviate concerns about the company's methods, particularly the lack of transparency regarding their data collection practices. A closer examination of the website's fine print reveals a clause that allows the company to contact users who have abandoned the signup process, a strategy that raises concerns about potential violations of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages act. Ultimately, this experience highlights the need for greater awareness about how companies like Genesis Energy handle user data.
