After verifying, it became clear that the caller falsely claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank and was seeking personal details, leading to a swift disconnection.

A recorded scam call pretended to be from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, sounding very professional and using correct names. When I called back, it mimicked the bank’s front‑end system and gave false directions. It’s safer to assume your bank will contact you directly and you should block this number right away.
