Expert Opinion
Patterns emerging from user reports point to a surge in PayPal‑related scams targeting this number. Callers typically claim a PayPal security code or request a money transfer, then push for app downloads or credential entry. The safest move is to verify any request directly through the official PayPal app or website, never through a link or by phone. Enable 2FA and treat unsolicited codes as suspicious, especially if you weren’t logging in. Block the caller, flag the SMS as spam, and report the incident to your carrier and to PayPal’s fraud team. Staying cautious and double‑checking can stop most scam attempts before they cause damage.

The number seems to be a legitimate PayPal line for sending payment notifications. Keep in mind that if a fraudster targets your PayPal account and sends a fake payment request, PayPal will still use this number to alert you, just as it does for genuine requests. Remember, a real‑looking payment notice isn’t always authentic—always verify the sender.
