Seriosly folks, its worth notting that research calls from companies doing surveys for councils and hospitals arent actualy covered by the Do Not Call Register. Its mainly aimed at blocking unwanted sales calls. Companys will try to claim theyre not selling anything, but if they start with 'how are you today' you know whats up. Legit research companys will introduce themselves and tell you how long the call will take. Be cool with the people calling, theyre just doing their job, even if its for a shady company.

A scammer tried to reach me on Sunday, but I chose not to pick up.
Some dude claimed to be doing a survey for my local council and asked about their perfomance. Then he asked for my name... and thats when it clicked that it might be a scam. Oops.
The caller pretended to conduct a survey for my local city council, which raised red flags since they already knew my address. After fielding random questions about council performance, they eventually requested my name; realizing it could be a scam, I now regret providing it.
