Expert Opinion

Like weeds creeping through a garden fence, these persistent calls from unknown sources can invade your peace without warning. Reports highlight frequent unwanted contacts, often pushing fake services or demanding info, with no legitimate backing—think invented companies or abrupt hang-ups. Block the number immediately and report to authorities like the Do Not Call Register to stem the flow. Never share personal details or payments over unsolicited lines; verify independently through official channels. If accents or background noise raise red flags, it's likely a scam tactic. Staying vigilant protects your privacy without feeding the intrusion.

A home‑compliance scammer with a thick accent called Saturday morning about replacing draft stoppers supposedly installed last year. They said the firm was called Home Compliance (which doesn’t exist) and didn’t know the ABN, then offered a supervisor call—only for me to mention I’m on the Do Not Call Register, after which they hung up.
