I was contacted by Domestic and General regarding the expiry of my washing machine warranty; the representative was courteous when I declined additional coverage.
Domestic & General scam calls – how to stop them! - +44 800 497 0625 (0800 497 0625)

Szakértői vélemény
Most callers from +448004970625 appear to be unsolicited telemarketing attempts linked to domestic insurance offers. They frequently use vague scripts, silent rings, or claim to represent Domestic & General, often without leaving a message. Recipients should block the number on their handset, register the nuisance with the Telephone Preference Service, and forward call details to the National Cyber Security Centre via the 7726 service. Verifying any genuine offer by contacting Domestic & General through official contact details – not the inbound number – helps avoid fraud. Maintaining a call‑log and enabling carrier‑level spam filters can further reduce repeat disturbances.

After receiving a call at lunchtime that ended abruptly when I answered, my son blocked the number due to suspected scam activity.
It's evident that this is another scam; my phone didn't ring, yet I received a missed call alert
A post on this feed about a month ago outlined exactly what needs to be done to stop scam calls and prevent robbers. Blocking isn’t the solution, which is why scammers keep targeting everyone. They know they won’t get reported. Complaining here won’t stop the scams either. Reporting through the police system would help, but only if everyone does it. After reporting, you can block the numbers and then share your experience on this site.
The caller claimed to be from Domestic and General, stating our washing machine insurance was cancelled. When I asked for details, they struggled to respond, which made me realise it was a scam and I hung up.
The number kept ringing but no messages were left. When I answered, someone said hello and then immediately hung up. It might be hackers, so it's safer not to pick up.
Informed me that my sky protect was up for renewal!! However, I’ve never had it, and the gentleman couldn’t comprehend how he made that mistake!
Fraudulent call
The caller claimed to be from Domestic & General, aiming to renew a Sky Protect contract, but when asked to call back later, they failed to do so, and the number was found to be non-existent.
During the call, the individual addressed me by name and claimed to represent Legal & General, stating that my Sky Protect policy had expired and offering a renewal deal, but I declined, suspicious of the claim, especially since Sky had cancelled its own protection scheme.
Fraud
During the call, a male claimed to be discussing Sky insurance with Domestic and General, addressing me by my surname, and proceeded to drone on about an 'offer' before I declined and ended the call.
This number is clearly a nuisance, constantly ringing with insurance related calls, yet they dont even bother to leave a message when the line is inactive.
Irritating
This number consistently contacts my mobile and landline, despite being blocked, and has been identified as a scam in previous interactions, warranting immediate blocking and reporting to Action Fraud
The caller hung up as soon as I answered, a suspicous behaviour.
A call from Domestic & General Insurance. A young man with a Geordie accent asked for someone I don't know. Seems like it's AO insurance, which we buy fromm but I don't have insurance with AO.
The call from this number was not answered, and no message was left, similiar to a previous call to my house phone.
Following a brief conversation with an individual claiming to be Rob from Domestic and General, purportedly representing Sky, I requested that our number be removed from their database. Unfortunately, this was met with rude remarks before the line was terminated. Such behaviour is not befitting of a legitimate company. The number has since been blocked.
I would personally select an insurance provider rather than engaging with a company that contacts me via phone. This approach seems indicative of a scam.
Initially, I answered the call, but there was only silence before the line went dead, prompting me to block the number, yet they continue to attempt calls daily, fortunately, without success.
Every weekday, i get 2 to 3 calls from this number, they dont leave a message, just wish they would stop calling me.
All potential scams should be reported to the less-known system designed to track and investigate them. Visit the National Cyber Security Centre's PHISHING section at 'https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams' for instructions. Key points include texting call details to 7726 or using your phone's spam reporting feature. Always verify any acknowledgements as confirmation might be required. Additionally, forward texts to 7726 and email screenshots of texts containing links.
When i picked up the phone it took a few secounds for somone to respond, they were asking about appliance insurace, i told them no thankyou and to remove my number, they have rang seven times now but ive blocked them
Picked up the phone but remained silent. The caller disconnected after a few seconds. I kept my line open for a while, as I generally do with such calls. One line was temporarily busy!
A domestic and general insurer called me, attempting to sell insurance for a product I purchased from AO, despite having cancelled the insurance. After six calls over a week, I finally stopped answering.
Daily calls were made for two weeks, claiming to be from Domestic and General, but were ignored and blocked
The caller was a indian guy, who kept saying 'Bud Bud Bud', didnt speak a word of english, avoid him at all costs
I didnt answer the phone, it was lunchtime, but after checking online it said it was a scam number.
This number claims to be domestic and general, but its probbably a scam
