I’m pretty sure it isn’t A**** answering – I saw it on this forum, so it’s probably a scam.
Why that “Sky Protect” call is a telemarketing trap - +44 800 479 0758 (0800 479 0758)
Sintesi — +448004790758
Opinione dell’esperto
Late last night, a call from +448004790758 may have introduced itself as Sky insurance, trying to sell you a Sky Protect policy. The script typically mentions a supposed anniversary, asks for account numbers, sort codes, or security answers, and pushes a quick sign‑up. Never share personal info or payment details with unsolicited callers, especially when they claim urgency. Hang up, add the number to your phone’s block list, and consider a call‑blocking app. Verify any offers directly with Sky’s official customer service before acting. If the calls persist, file a complaint with the communications regulator and your phone provider to help curb the telemarketing source. Finally, keep a record of the caller ID and timestamps for any future report.

A refined‑tasting voice introduced himself as Henry from Sky, but I hung up quickly, sensing a scam.
When nobody responded, I ended the call; it appears to be a scam.
A call came at five in the morning.
The number is abhorrent; I intend to report the vile abuse.
The moment I picked up, the line was cut. The caller keeps ringing me repeatedly.
There was no message left.
Silence – no message recorded.
They are attempting to market Sky Protect.
A brief ring rang out then dropped before I could answer. It happened a few times, so I blocked the number.
Clearly a scam. 1. They hang up as soon as you answer. 2. The +44 prefix shows the call is originating from outside the UK. Such call centres ought to be banned.
Someone rang today asking for my name, address, postcode and then immediately for a password – I instantly thought it was a scam, as Sky would never request a password. They tried to push Domestic and General insurance with four months free, which I declined.
The line rang six times before it finally cut off.
The claim that Sky equipment is rented, so it must be returned upon cancellation, is accurate. If the gear fails, Sky is contractually obliged to replace it, eliminating any need for insurance.
I got no voicemail; the call dropped when I attempted to pick up.
A man introduced himself as "Billy", saying he was calling on behalf of Sky to discuss benefits I’m eligible for as a Sky customer. He stuck to a script; when I pressed, he kept referring back to it. He mentioned D&G and called it a partnership, but refused to name his employer. After demanding personal details, I asked why Sky wasn’t contacting me; he said delegating to them gave Sky "more time" and repeated the D&G partnership line. I suggested Sky email me and hung up.
There was no message left…?
A suspicious call was received, remaining silent for over 2 minutes before disconnecting
Like others have noted, D&G insurance contacts you on Sky's behalf—not Sky directly—though they may open with “on behalf of Sky,” which can be misleading. They pitch insurance for Sky equipment and other devices; not a scam, but if you don't need such coverage, you can ignore it.
My first suspicion turned out to be incorrect; now I believe this is legitimate.
Seems like an AI scam; the call followed a fixed script regardless of my replies. I hung up and blocked the number.
When I answered, there was complete silence.

This number has been calling me regularly since April, but I've had it blocked, so I only see the calls when I check my call logs, and I've never actually answered it
My wife answered and informed him she was aware of all her services, prompting him to hang up immediately!
Rang multiple times before finally speaking, but they sounded just like a Dalek. After seeing other reviews, I’ve decided to block them as it seems to be an insurance sales call.
As soon as they requested my adress, I terminated the conversation.
The number called three times, but no one was on the line when I answered.
