Expertenmeinung
Beware of unsolicited calls claiming to be your bank – they often aim to harvest personal data. Even if the caller mentions Lloyds, Halifax or the Bank of Scotland, legitimate institutions will never ask for full passwords, PINs or DOB over the phone without a prior, verified appointment. Always verify the caller by hanging up and dialing the official number from your statement or the bank’s website. Keep a record of the call time and any numbers displayed, and report suspicious attempts to the FCA’s fraud line or your bank’s security team. Using these steps helps keep your information legitimate and secure.

Earlier today, i recieved a call from 0345 850 1681 regarding Halifax mortages and later they rang back from 0800 169 7762, same person on the other end, seems genuin.

Upon receiving a call from 0800 169 7762, the caller introduced herself as Sarah Belcher from Lloyds complaints department, but given the numerous instances of Lloyds bank scams I've encountered, I remain sceptical and prefer to deal exclusively with my local bank branch, especially considering the vast number of subsidiaries under the Lloyds banking group umbrella, including Halifax, Royal bank of Scotland, Black Horse Finance, Natwest Cheltenham & Gloucestershire, among others.
This is a scam, felt wrong, hung up and rang Halifax and they said nobody had rang, there was no notes and I did the right thing hanging up
I received a message from this number claiming to be from Lloyds Bank, stating that no action was required, which seemed unusual since I've never had an account with them.
I can confirm that this is a genuine call from the complaints team at Lloyds banking group/Halifax, as I have worked with them before.
My office manager contacted me from this number lol.
This is a scam asking for sensitive banking information that a real bank would never request. Stay alert!
This company reached out with useful information. Quick and straightforward conversation. Positive experience overall.
Received a legitimate call from Natwest regarding my mortgage. After direct debit issues arose, I spoke to a gentleman last week, and he contacted me again from this number today. I’m very cautious, but this one seems genuine.
Represents MBNA credit card
This is neither Lloyds nor any of the other banks mentioned; legitimate banks do not call from +44. Those claiming it's Lloyds may be colluding with the scammers 🤷🏾♀️. Never divulge personal info to scammers and always verify real numbers before blocking them.
I complained to Lloyds bank about inconsistent bank statements, but the person who called from this number, Jason Hoose, declined my complaint, and I beleive this number is used by scammers, be carefull.
I blocked this number, its a scam, dont bother answering
The woman claimed to represent Lloyds Bank, and I informed her that the issue was with solicitors. She noted their name and mentioned she would reach out if they were Law Society members; otherwise, she had our address for sending forms. I’m uncertain if this was a legitimate call. Other banks typically use 03 numbers instead of 08. Additionally, she quickly ended the conversation when I said solicitors had been instructed previously, not recently. After our call, I dialed the number back, and the recorded message confirmed it was Lloyds Bank, stating I needed to do nothing as they would call again.
A caller claiming to represent Lloyds Bank requested sensitive personal information, which I refused to provide
Fraud team of Halifax called me
Bank of Scotland
This number is associated with Scottish Widows, a known insurance company.
Lloyds banking group is a legit caller.
Although I didn't recognize the number, Lloyds Bank's call centre left a voicemail about an insurance claim, which I verified as legitimate through the provided callback number.
Claimed to be from Bank of Scotland. When I asked why they didn't notify me via the app, she hesitated and hung up!
A call was received from this number where the woman was incorrectly jotting down my details and requested my address along with bank information, which made me increasingly uneasy.
This appears to be a legitimate call from a bank, either BOS Business or Lloyds Business
Follow up on loan aplication was genuine
A woman contacted me, already in possession of my name, and attempted to verify a Lloyds transaction; when I refused, she claimed to have dialled the wrong number, which is clearly a scam.
