I actually rang this number myself, I was trying to buy a mobile phone from Giffgaff and had some issues with payment, the website gave me this number to call for help, which supposidly was NatWest, my bank, but it turned out to be a scam, I had to cancel my bank card, what a hassle!

This number is genuinly a Nat West number, but its been cloned in most cases, never respond to their requests, just hang up and make sure the line is clear, then if you bank with them, call them using the number on the back of your debit card, thats the safest way.
After an online transaction with a Virgin One (RBS group) debit card, I received a call just 20 seconds later to provide a one-time passcode. It's accurate that you must press a number after answering to obtain the code.

Apparently, a scammer claiming to be NatWest called me at 8:30 in the morning, asking me to press 1 for my verification transaction number - what a nuisance.
