Received a text purporting to be from Halifax Bank about a payment I never authorised; a quick account check showed no transaction.
I got a text claiming to be from Halifax Bank, saying a payment I tried to set up hadn’t gone through and that the bank needed to speak with me. They gave this number to call.

This definitely wasn't Halifax. They tried to steal my account and altered all my online banking details. I reported it straight away, Halifax placed holds and issued new cards.
