A call purportedly from NatWest's fraud team claimed there was suspicious activity on my debit card, but it's a scam

I recieved a call from somone who clamed to be part of the NatWest fraud team, and it was very convinving and beleivable

I almost believed this was real.

A person called me claiming to be from NatWest fraud, they said they sent a verification code, but I never recieved it, they then asked me several questions, including my nat insurance number and passcode, when I called NatWest, they confirmed that this number is not theirs and its a scam to gain access to my bank and personal details, I was lucky to catch it.

Do not answer or engage with this number. It’s a scammer claiming to be from NatWest fraud squad. I’m aware of these calls, but honestly, this one almost fooled me! My card was blocked by NatWest for innocent mistakes (entered my account number wrong during a transaction) so I called NatWest on my landline to resolve it. Shortly after, this number (08000325183) rang my mobile asking for my details. How did these scammers get my mobile number just when I was on the landline with NatWest? These people are nothing but ####, and I wish them a terrible end.

Do not answer or engage with this number. It's a scammer pretending to be from NatWest's fraud department. These people are nothing but a nuisance, and I hope they face consequences. Why hasn't NatWest taken action against these thieves?

Occurred right after a major credit card purchase. They used a name not listed on the payment site. A voice recording claimed to be the NatWest Fraud team, asking to press a key if I'm the named person, which seems like a phishing tactic. NatWest couldn't confirm if it's them due to being a separate operation. It might be a scam or coincidental timing. Regardless, do not press any keys—it's too risky.

To avoid fraud, it's advised not to answer calls from this number; instead, contact your bank directly using the number on your card, and consider installing a security app.
