They sounded like scammers, demanding my home address and even knowing I opened an account with VM.

Like a chameleon changing colours, the calls from +448000322229 can appear trustworthy one moment and dubious the next. Many users report genuine interactions with Virgin Money, yet a notable share describe phishing attempts or nuisance spam. Under data‑protection law, organisations must confirm their identity before requesting personal details and must not rely on caller‑ID alone. If you receive a call, pause, note the name and reference, then hang up and dial the official number listed on your bank card or statement. Never share passwords, PINs or OTPs over the phone. Use call‑blocking tools for repeated unwanted numbers and report suspicious calls to the ICO.

An automatic call from Virgin Bank appeared to be genuine.
This is clearly a scam; the caller referenced a PayPal account I don’t have. The positive comments are likely attempts to convince you otherwise, and they may connect you to an offshore call centre that will try to access your computer and online banking.
A call from Virgin Media Bank regarding a payment and potential fraud seemed genuine, but exercise caution with any bank‑related number.
A real call from Virgin Bank; ignore the rumours that it’s a scam and that anyone denying it is also a fraudster – those claims are false. Still, verify the number yourself before trusting it.
The call was authentic; ignore the doom‑mongers—it’s Virgin Bank.
The number is authentic; I contacted Virgin and they confirmed it belongs to them.
I was forced to replace my bank card after these scammers stole my details. Never answer an unfamiliar number – always call your bank directly using the number on your card. If you're with Virgin Money, that number is printed on the card. The Scottish fraudster who targeted me even left positive feedback for himself on this site! To the offender: you’ll face eternal damnation for the suffering you cause innocent people. I’ve hired a detective and they’re closing in – you’ll get what you deserve.
A legitimate call from the Virgin Money fraud team.
Missing an afternoon call from this number, I was actually expecting a Virgin Money contact. Dismissing it as a scam simply because the voice sounds Indian is laughable. Virgin’s call centre operates out of India; many representatives are well‑trained, speak proper English and conduct their duties professionally, though a few provide poor service that might cause suspicion. Overall, only a spoofed number is a real concern – that’s a different story. Good luck.
When I book a hotel and pay online with my Virgin debit card, this number rings, and you need to answer to receive the verification code to finish the payment. It’s legitimate, so if you’re just arranging a holiday, don’t dismiss it or you’ll end up missing out!
For me, calls from this number have been legitimate, providing the verification code needed to finish online debit card hotel bookings. Without it the payment would have been blocked, so I’m grateful for the extra security. Still, we all need to stay ahead of scammers; if the story sounds far‑fetched, it probably is – just hang up.
They said they were from Virgin Money regarding my complaint and demanded all my details before discussing it. I explained the issue was actually a suggestion, they refused to proceed, so I told them to review my suggestion and act on it, and that I didn’t appreciate the request for personal data.
A genuine call from Virgin Money confirmed the closure of my account and the transfer of funds.
Scam alert – fraudulent activity.
Likely a banking fraud.
Potential scam.
The line is part of Virgin Money’s customer service.
The person who rang today never mentioned Virgin and said they wanted to discuss energy – it felt like a scam to me.
The call appeared to come from Virgin Bank about my emailed complaint. While the caller could mention brief details, fraudsters can also pose as bank staff. Annoyingly, they asked for my name, address, and postcode for verification before explaining the purpose, and later demanded my date of birth – a red flag for scammers. They threatened to halt my complaint without it, which I refused. In my view, any complaint sent by email should be responded to by email, not by an immediate phone request for personal details. Poor practice, Virgin Bank.
A female voice with english accent repeatly says hello, so I ended the call.
I got a call from Virgin Money regarding my account closure request.
Clearly a dubious number that should not be trusted. An automated message suggested that I needed to verify a Just Eat purchase by calling back. I won’t fall for that trick. Those claiming this number is legitimate are mistaken; it’s undoubtedly a scam. Do yourself a favour and block this number.
Virgin Money contacted me regarding my account application. They were very helpful.
At 12:30 am on 6th August, I received a call that claimed to be from ex Clydesdale or Virgin Money; however, I strongly believe this to be a scam, and I advise others not to respond to calls from this number
Virgin Money is safe banking
Got a call from this number today but didn’t answer. Claimed to be from Clydesdale Bank, but I’m not certain.
It's unbelieveable that these scammers are now using this site to promote their own numbers; if you recieve a call, hang up and contact the bank direclty, you can't trust these people, they can caus alot of harm.
Virgin financial call me, its a courtesy thing
Legit call from Virgin Money. A helpful Scottish chap provided useful advice and resolved a possible issue.
