I received a call claiming to be from Virgin Money, asking to update my husband's details. I informed the Scottish woman he was unavailable and that I handle the bank accounts. She then mentioned it was a joint account and placed me on hold. Upon her return, she began asking questions. I expressed my discomfort discussing this over the phone and noted that Virgin Money never calls me. Her response was for me to contact the number on my card or visit a branch as these details were necessary. BE AWARE AS THIS WAS TO GAIN MY TRUST SO I WOULD DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION. I reached out to Virgin Money and they confirmed no one had contacted us from there. Therefore, all the comments on this site claiming the number is legitimate are likely from the scammers themselves.
I've just recived a call from them regarding the closure of a Virgin savings account, which I've never had, they knew my name though, which is very suspisous

The caller claimed to be from Virgin Money, stating they needed to check for fraudulent activity on my account; I verified this by contacting Virgin on a different number, and it turned out to be legitimate.
