It appears that the number +448000286889 is being used by scammers to contact individuals, claiming to be from HSBC, with the intention of obtaining personal and financial information. The scammers are using phishing tactics, such as asking for dates of birth, postcodes, and account details, to gain access to sensitive information. Many users have reported that the calls are persistent, with some receiving multiple calls in a short period. The scammers are also using poor phone lines and strong accents to try to convince individuals that they are genuine. However, HSBC has confirmed that this number is not associated with them, and users are advised to be cautious and not provide any information to these scammers. If you receive a call from this number, it is recommended that you do not engage with the caller and instead contact HSBC directly using the number on the back of your card or through their official website.

Received a call purporting to be HSBC; after checking with the bank it turned out to be legitimate, yet I remain cautious and advise others to handle this number carefully.
I keep receiving calls from this number. The caller has an Indian accent, says they're from HSBC, and asks for my DOB, address, etc.
They repeatedly called, posing as HSBC and asking for my date of birth and postcode.
They keep ringing me up to twice daily, yet I never answer or listen to any voicemail they leave. Even after blocking similar numbers, they simply call from a new line. I'm going to block this one as well.
Within two days, six call attempts were made. I ignored every ring and later confirmed via this site that the number is a scam. It’s unsettling that many, like my favourite HSBC customers, are being impersonated – makes you wonder where they sourced the data! The number is now blocked.
Multiple calls rang through all day; after ignoring them, they finally texted "been hiding it's mine money" – I blocked the line.
The caller ID displayed HSBC even though the number wasn’t saved. After missing two calls I phoned the bank; they had no record. A third missed call prompted another call to the bank – they usually send a text or email confirming the contact and log the reason. A quick web search suggested a scam. On the fourth attempt I answered, pretended to be HSBC, heard traffic noise in the background, and hung up after confirming it was bogus.
Impostor claiming to be HSBC – clearly a scam.
Scam.
A caller claimed to be HSBC after I missed a credit card payment about a week ago, yet I've never received such calls before. The app settings show no ring, no text, and post only, so the repeated calls seem unwarranted.
Fraudulent caller attempting a scam.
Got a text claiming I had a voicemail from this number, yet no call or message actually exists.
I keep receiving emails purporting to be from "HSBC" that urge me to dial this number; the line has called before, and HSBC’s official support confirmed it isn’t theirs. I'm fed up with these phishing emails and calls and wish the bank would intervene.
Potential fraud.
Phony email includes the number 0800 028 6889.
The number is a scam; they asked for my date of birth and postcode, which I refused as HSBC never contacts customers by phone.
Posing as HSBC and demanding my date of birth before hanging up – the number is now blocked.

Avoid answering this number - they pretended to be from HSBC, asking for personal details, but a call to the real HSBC confirmed it was a scam, and these scammers are becoming increasingly convincing
The person on the phone claimed to be from HSBC, but had a strong asian accent, they asked for my postcode, but I told them to call me the next day, they refused and kept asking for informations, so I hung up, its a scam!

Two calls from this number claiming to represent HSBC just came in. The line was very unclear, making it hard to hear them, and they were asking for personal information, being rather vague when I requested more details.

A call was received from an individual purporting to represent HSBC, requesting personal details before disclosing the purpose of the call, which raised suspicions of fraud and prompted a decision to contact the bank directly using the official number on the card.
