I recived a letter with this number on it, but it's not genuine, dont belive it

A letter arrived with this number, which I called to dispute a fraudulent account

After receiving an email requesting I contact the bank on 0800 028 6889, I made the call and was asked for sensitive financial information by a Filipina, which raised concerns

I received two calls with poor line quality from a woman with a strong accent, claiming to be from HSBC; however, after checking with HSBC's online chat, it was confirmed that this is not a legitimate HSBC number, and I was advised not to provide any account information and to report the number to the Action Fraud Team UK

After verifying with HSBC using their toll-free number 08000286889, it was confirmed that they had no record of calling me, leading me to block the number.

This number is clearly fraudolent, dont respond to any texts or calls from them

This morning I recieved a call from 0800 028 6889, a lady with a strong Filipino accent asked for some personnal info, unfortunatly she couldn't answer my questions and droped the call, after searching the number online I found most comments sugested it was a scam caller - thanks for the warning, I then contacted HSBC through their online portal and they confirmed the number was not authentic, please ignore and block calls from this number, stay safe!

The line was extremely poor, an Asian voice had my name and address. They claimed to be from HSBC credit card department, knew I was overdrawn. Offered to create a repayment plan for me. They said they would call back in two days. I mentioned I would visit my branch to sort it out. They kept insisting they would set up the plan for me to avoid that.
