Opinión del experto
Like a locked diary, your personal details shouldn’t be handed out to strangers on the phone. When a call arrives from +448000232635 claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions, treat it as a verification step first. Ask for a call‑back number on an official letter or log into your online DWP account before sharing any personal data. Be wary of urgent language or promises of “good news” – these are common pressure tactics. Record the call, note the time and content, and report suspicious numbers to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Keeping a sceptical stance protects you from identity theft and unauthorised data use.

My son’s work coach from UC called to check in since he’s on a course they provided. It’s a genuine number.
After missing a call from 08000232635, which claimed to be from the DWP, a call to the main helpline confirmed the authenticity of the call, which was made to verify details of a new claim
A text message arrived two days ago, allegedly from DWP, stating they would contact me regarding my UC claim, but the number they provided does not match this one
User has advised caution when dealing with this number
The origion of this number is unknown to me
It seems unlikely that scammers are stealing my outgoing mail, so this number is probably DWP, they called to inform me that they had recived my application for my son’s DLA and to confirm my identiy, they asked me a few questions that only I would know, but nothing that could be found in public records, it would be pointless for a scammer to waste ther time
Only respond if you're on benefits, as this is a DWP work coach. It did show up with a scam warning.
A women with a polish accent rang, wanting to discus my benefits, she asked secuity questions but only gave her first name, when i asked for more information she refused, i quoted the relevent law but she ignored it, she was keen to talk to me but i sugested email instead, the call ended abrubtly, it was a strange conversation
No issues encountered with this DWP return call
This number called twice, with the first call going unanswered due to uncertainty about the caller's identity, while the second call was answered, revealing a legitimate call from a DWP representative regarding an ESA claim
If you are recieving calls from this number, and you are on Universal Credit, dont block it, as it might be your work coach from the DWP.
I'm glad i answered the phone, it was a genuine call from the DWP, the agent asked me the secuity questions i had set
Based on the various posts and my own research, I can confirm this number is a scam; I recieved a call at 11:40am, which appeard to be from a company called Bottega Verde, although I've never dealt with them and couldnt find any affiliation between the number and the company, so I let it ring out, aparently
Apparently related to DWP or Universal Credit
I am unsure whether this call was from the DWP or a scam, but I am categorizing it as dangerous to avoid potentially giving away my personal details.
Clearly a valid number. I consulted my work coach - if you're on UC, don't block it.
Unknown number popped up on my phone. Didn't answer, and they didn't persist. All good.
Be careful with this number, its from dwp, but its also being used for scams, if your not claiming anything, be wary
This number is related to the DWP.
I got a missed call from this number at 07.46 this morning 30.07.24, i highly doubt its the DWP at such an early hour, so beware...
