Scammers often pose as NatWest or RBS to trick people into confirming dodgy transactions. Victims report texts about blocked cards or suspicious activity, urging a call back—always a red flag. One lot even used hacked Rituals data for a fake offer, leading to this number's voicemail. Don't ring it; contact your bank using the official number on your card or app instead. Block the number and report to Action Fraud. If you've shared details, monitor accounts closely and change passwords. These cons prey on worry, but staying cautious keeps funds safe.

Two texts meant for me ended up on my wife's phone; one claimed to be from NatWest, the other warned of suspicious activity on my credit card – neither were for her.
An email on 25 May 2021 used stolen Rituals data – my name, birthday, mobile and email – to push a fake secure (https) offer. NatWest blocked the purchase, then an automated voicemail urged me to call back.

I was sceptical when the text arrived – a typical scam message – yet the RBS credit‑card transaction mentioned was genuine, being an unusual purchase for that card and matching a recent call.
An extremely convincing credit‑card fraud attempt, but it’s a scam – block the number.
It looks like a credit‑card scam, telling you the card was declined at a shop you visited, then following up with an 0800 call pretending to be your bank.
They requested verification of a transaction, pretending to be fraud protection. I ignored the message and have disabled my debit card.
It leaves me questioning whether this is my bank; no indication of identity or purpose is given, so I avoid answering on either mobile or landline and remain locked out of my account – H
In my view it points to RBS, suggesting the caller may work across several banks.
A text from 07782 502246 claimed to be NatWest checking a pending Mastercard transaction, saying “We have identified unusual activity on your Mastercard…”. I didn’t call back because my purchase from a reputable retailer seemed fine.
They pretended to be Google, asking me to confirm a legitimate recent purchase.
