Opinia expertului
Patterns in reports reveal a clear trend of unsolicited calls pushing dubious insulation services, often masquerading as official entities. Callers frequently reference non-existent organisations like the 'National Booking Office' or 'UK Cosy Homes', claiming issues such as outdated certificates or asbestos risks to lure recipients into site visits or quotes. No legitimate follow-ups occur, and interactions turn evasive or abusive when questioned. Block the number immediately to avoid hassle, and report it to Action Fraud if pressed for details. Never share personal info or allow unverified engineers access—genuine schemes from councils or energy firms won't cold-call aggressively. Hang up on persistence; it's a hallmark of these scams.

Another insulation scam attempt – best to erase it.
A call came from this number on 14/11/24; I didn’t pick up. A quick Google search revealed it to be a known scam/spam source.
The so‑called "National Efficiency Office" doesn’t exist, marking another insulation‑related scam.
A call came from this number where the operator knew my name and address, claiming to be from the National Booking Office and saying an engineer would visit tomorrow at 1.30 pm to inspect alleged asbestos in my insulation and provide a quote. They mentioned a follow‑up from ‘Matthew’, but I never received any further contact and will not accept the engineer’s visit.
The call dropped as soon as the answering machine took over, which usually signals trouble; others' advice confirmed blocking it was wise. Thanks.
No response was given, I hung up, and voices could be heard in the background.
Looks like a scam!
They mentioned an air‑quality test related to my insulation, which turned out to be a scam. I hung up and blocked the number.
The person claimed our insulation certificate had expired and offered a free test to issue a new one on behalf of the Council. It smelt of a scam aiming to push a certificate update, especially since the house is actually a new build.
The first outreach mentioned an insulation efficiency survey, with the caller claiming to represent UK Cosy Homes. This second number has been flagged here for heavy spam use via Telefonica UK mobile lines, with no landline for a Ferndown‑registered firm. The business has existed only since 11 July 2023, led by director Gemma Louise Thompson (born April 1994).
This was a County Insulation Team scam – the operator pitched cheap insulation, despite having no affiliation with any council.
An irritable man named Paul pitched insulation, posing as a government agency, and became abusive when I mentioned I was looking up the company's name online.
Seems to be a war‑dialer – silent at first, then a call‑centre ambience, and they hung up as soon as I answered with a weary hello.
Nobody said a word, so I assumed it was a scam.
They called, asked for me by name, then hung up; my return call went unanswered.
Seems to have been about home insulation; I hung up, blocked the number – definitely a scam.
Caller unknown; no voicemail was left.
