Late last night, many users reported receiving a text claiming to be from HSBC’s fraud team, asking for a Y or N reply. The safest move is to ignore the message and call the bank using the number on the back of your card or the official website. Never click links or provide personal details to an unknown number. If you suspect a fraudulent transaction, log into online banking directly to verify. When in doubt, treat the call as potentially unsafe and let the bank handle the investigation. Blocking the suspicious number can also reduce future nuisance.

I'm astonished by the conflicting reports of scams or legitimacy regarding this number. I received a text asking for a yes or no response, checked the number, and with so many mixed reviews, I contacted my bank early this morning. It turned out to be genuine, but now my card is blocked as it mentioned the last few digits of my card... Not ideal with a four-day bank holiday approaching.
Dont respond to their message, its a scam and they are not who they say they are
