If you get a call claiming to be from the Department of Health, the GMC, or any NHS‑related body, treat it with suspicion. Legitimate agencies will never ask for personal medical details, insurance numbers or payment information over the phone. Hang up, block the number and report it to Action Fraud. Never press numbers in automated prompts – that’s a classic vishing trick. Keep a record of the caller ID and share it on community forums; it helps others spot the same scam. If you’re on the TPS list, remind the caller of your rights and consider filing a complaint with the regulator.

A call claiming to be from 'UK Healthcare' asked about problems booking doctor appointments and then tried to confirm my life‑insurance provider. I asked them to stop calling and to delete my number from their list.

A supposed property investment in Dubai turned out to be a scam; I didn’t answer.
I was sent a message claiming to be from Chris: Samantha, a loved one from Spirit who passed away suddenly, mentioning names Lynn and Sarah. More info at https://kvo0.io/RLTdbc – let me know if it’s fake; I keep receiving these texts.
They kept dialing, so when I finally answered I informed them I’m on the TPS register and demanded they cease contacting me. The caller claimed to be from UK Money Advice.
The automated voice warned that HMRC was about to prosecute me and demanded I press a keypad number. I blocked the number.
According to the General Medical Council, these calls are fraudulent; they’re being reported to Action Fraud, and anyone receiving them should do the same via https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/.
