Royal Mail scam alerts – what to watch for - +44 345 774 0740 (0345 774 0740)

This number attempted to deceive me into visiting a Royal Mail website for a parcel with allegedly no postage

It's suspicious that the Royal Mail wouldn't deliver a package to the local sorting office for collection upon payment of a fee, suggesting a scam.

Caller ID showed it as "Royal Mail 03457740740", but it was a scammer trying to get my mum's card details to charge her £1.50 for a package delivery. Luckily, my mum realised it was a scam.

I was told i had a package with no stamp, and i could either pay £1.50 or collect it, but if they had my bank details, they would have taken alot more, so i decidied to collect it, but they didnt give me a address, so it's a SCAM - BEWARE

Recently, I received a call from this number demanding £1.55 for a parcel due to a missing stamp. They were quite pushy, insisting that I follow their instructions and enter a one-time passcode. Yet, the message warned to "NEVER share this code, not even with bank staff or police, use XXXXXX to purchase 5265.0 EGP at ALFE FRIEGHT ref 4148. Not you? Please call us.

This appears to be a Royal Mail contact number, but solely for incoming communications. They wouldn't use this to reach out about an unstamped parcel requiring payment - obviously a scam

They insisted I needed to pay a small fee for a parcel delivery. Details were vague, mentioning just two initials of the sender, a weight of 0.75g, and an Amazon box. Despite living in Scotland, they were calling from London. I’m not expecting anything, and even after expressing this, they continued to pressure me for payment. They mentioned sending a link or text, which I said they could do, but I wouldn’t pay without more information as it seems someone might have misused my details.

They said they were from Royal Mail, but it's a scam, they just want to get my money, it's a sham.
