Expert Opinion
Caution is essential with calls from this number, as experiences split sharply between genuine NatWest fraud alerts and cunning scams that spoof the bank's details. Scammers often mimic official texts in existing threads, using your name and partial account info to build trust before pushing for sensitive data like national insurance numbers or urging unauthorised transfers. Always hang up immediately and ring NatWest using the number on your card or app to verify—never call back the incoming line. Genuine teams won't demand personal details over the phone or pressure hasty actions. If in doubt, freeze your cards via the app and report to Action Fraud. Prompt checks prevent account freezes or losses, so act swiftly without delay.
