Direct Line claim call – legit or scam? - +44 345 300 4454 (0345 300 4454)

Uzman görüşü
Calls that say they’re from Direct Line and mention a car accident you never had are common. Such callbacks often aim to harvest personal details or payment information under the guise of a claim. Treat any unsolicited insurance enquiry with scepticism: hang up and independently verify the number on your policy documents or the official website. Never share sort codes, account numbers or identity data during the call. If the caller pressures you to act immediately, recognise it as a classic red flag. Report persistent numbers to the appropriate fraud‑prevention service and consider blocking them on your handset. Maintaining clear boundaries protects your data and reduces exposure to fraud.

A follow-up call was recieved regarding a complaint on a submitted claim
Although I didn't answer the call, a voicemail was left by a woman claiming to be from NatWest, asking me to call back without specifying the reason. Her lack of confidence and the absence of any emails from NatWest raise suspicions about this number.
The Natwest Fraud Team provided me with this number to call, but the experience was unprofessional and the phone line was of poor quality, with scratchy sounds and a loud hold music; I'm concerened about the security of my personal informations, as the call was not transfered to a manager and nobody called back, it's likely a scam
I suspect this is a scam, as a voicemail was left stating an email would be sent, but no email was received
Upon answering a call from this number, the caller claimed to be from Churchill insurance and requested postcode details, which were refused
They said they wanted to chat about a recent incident I was involved in, yet neither I nor the other party use this firm. Follow-up email claimed my car needed booking for an assessment, but it's already set for pickup tomorrow – classic scam, yeah.
Apparently, this number belongs to UK Insurance, who handle car insurance policies for Churchill and Direct line, and recieved a call from a female representaive who was suppost to ring back in late August, she claimed to be based in the north east of England, aparently if you need to make a claim you will probally get a call from abroad
I received a legitimate call from Direct Line Claims.
This caller is genuine, being from Direct Line.
I recieved a call from this number, which was from UKI, the insurer for Direct Line, Churchill, and other companys, they were contacting me to discus my car valuation, and I can confirm it was a legitamate call
Fake car insurer calleed, didnt know my name
Following a disappointing conversation with Direct Line Insurance's Billing Department, which seemed to be based in an Indian call centre judging by the accent and background noise, I was hesitant to answer this call after reading the comments; however, it turned out to be a genuine call from a UK-based Direct Line employee who resolved my issue, and the reference to UK Insurance may be relevant as they are the underwriters and also owned by Direct Line
Today, I received a call from someone claiming to represent Direct Line insurance, who possessed my personal details, including my full name, email address, and home address. They mentioned an accident I was involved in during 2019 and claimed an error had been made in my payout. I requested that all correspondence be made in writing via email, and I await their response, although my sister suspects it may be a scam.
Direct Line motability.
Although this number appears legitimate, my experience suggests scammers can spoof it, possibly involving Indian call centre staff who misuse client information after hours, so remain vigilant
This caller claimed to represent 'Churchill', requesting verification of my email and postal addresses for supposed security reasons, but ended the call when I asked for clarification.
Somebody ring me asking for my boyfriend, I told them he live here but this is not his number, then a call centre in India said my boyfriend gave them this number, I ask what company they are calling from and she just hung up on me 🤔
Nobody answer the phone
I can confirm that this call was legitimate, relating to our Nationwide travel claim, and the insurance company representative was very helpful.
I had a claim in progress with Nationwide Travel Insurance, which is operated by UK Insurance Ltd, so I was expecting a call from them, although they missed me.

This number belongs to Privilege Insurance
Upon answering a call at 1503 today, there was no one on the other end.
I missed a call from someone claiming to be from UK Insurance, they also sent me a text and email, but when I contacted Direct Line, they confirmed it was genuine, so it was a legit call
