Purporting to be from Microsoft, they attempted a cyber attack on my computer, claiming they could help, but I had to replace the computer; it's crucial not to engage with such calls and to take offline scanning measures.

A scam call pretending to be from Hotmail. They had an Indian accent but an oddly Western name. Very aggressive and persistent.

A voice speaking Chinese wanted to discuss my email address - seriously!!!

A supposed cyber security company representative, a woman, contacted me, claiming they had received complaints about scam emails allegedly sent from my email address; I pointed out the absurdity of the situation, highlighting the caller's poor English skills.

A person with a Spanish accent, purporting to represent Microsoft Service support, claimed my computer had been compromised and attempted to direct me to it, likely to install malicious software, making this company a potential threat, and it is advisable to be cautious and block them immediately

THIS IS A DANGEROUS SCAM. They pretend to be from an internet service claiming that your computer has been compromised. Never share personal or computer details with such callers. Just hang up. Disconnect your internet for about thirty minutes, and when you reconnect, ensure your firewall is active. If you're unsure how to check that, your local library often has individuals who can provide basic computer assistance.
