But pay the original creditor, not these shady collectors. Debts don’t just disappear after a certain time, as some believe. If you don’t owe anything but are being chased, investigate – you might be a victim of identity theft. Contact Cabot to find out where this supposed debt came from. Don’t ignore it – your credit score could suffer. Citizens Advice can help. Be cautious, as scammers are posing as debt collectors, advisors, and even Citizens Advice.

This number persistently calls, claiming to be from Cobat and urging me to return their call. After verifying, I can confirm that I have no outstanding debts. Despite blocking them repeatedly, they frequently change their number. Clearly a scam.
It appears that CABOT is once again engaging in scam activities, a recurring pattern at this time of year, with the use of different numbers each time to evade blocking
Repeated calls from this number went unanswered, and no messages were left, leading me to block the number; however, the callers have since resorted to sending text messages, which are clearly part of a scam.
