Late afternoon on 6th Jan 2022, this number rang my landline three time and my mobile twice, it was a women on the other end talking about the card i just used and fraud on Halifax card.
This number has been identified as a legitimate automated call from Halifax's fraud team.
I called the main contact number for Halifax and they confirmed that the call was genuine, they transfered me directly
Repeated calls from a fraud prevention service are suspected to be a bank scam, and caution is advised
Following a failed online transaction with my Halifax card, I received a genuine call from the Halifax fraud team, which helped resolve the issue through an automated service.
Frightening experience with this number, as an automated message claimed to be from Halifax Fraud, stating my debit card was in use and offering to connect me with a representative, all while addressing me by my full name.
I checked with Halifax, this is Official Halifax Card Fraud number
The caller falsely claimed to be representing Halifax Bank.
After recieving a few missed calls from this number, I was worried because the automated message mentioned bank card fraud, so I contacted the halifax fraud team directly and they told me it was a genuine call
