Potential scam call mimicking Halifax Bank. I didn’t answer, but a recorded female voice left a message about a declined credit‑card payment, urging me to press a button to discuss. The name mentioned didn’t match mine or gender. Another attempt followed an hour later, so I added the number to my block list.

Looks like a scam operation – don’t trust the upbeat comments here, they’re probably from the fraudsters themselves, definatly.

A legit call from Halifax landed on my line; I rang them back and explained why I knew it wasn’t a scam. They told me to dial the customer service number on my debit card, which I did. Turns out the number was already saved, so I’d called before. They stopped a suspicious £34 charge and cleared the rest of my legit transactions. My card’s been cancelled and a new one’s on its way Tuesday. Don’t ignore – give the number on your card a ring to be sure, mate.
I verified the authenticity of the call from The Halifax by contacting their customer service number, and it was legitimate; they had detected a suspicious transaction and cancelled my card
Initially thought it was a scam, but it's a legitimate Halifax number. Received a landline call today, 16/03/24, and checked my mobile for a text. Contacted Halifax via my usual telephone banking number and found several small unauthorised transactions totalling over £80. The bank will refund the amount, stopped my card, and will issue a new one in 3-5 days. Please don't ignore this
These individuals are impostors pretending to represent Halifax. Initially, they sent a text claiming to be from Halifax's fraud department, notifying me of a significant transaction being halted on my account. The details were quite accurate (it was a legitimate payment I was expecting). I chose not to respond. Shortly after, I received a call from this number (03330459567), which I, naturally, did not answer. I would wager that the positive reviews here are from the fraudsters themselves!
An automated message on our landline mentioned my son's name and claimed to be from Halifax's fraud department. Since my son hasn’t lived at this address for several years and Halifax would possess his current numbers, I suspect this is a scam call.
Upon recieving numerous calls from this number, it becomes aparent that they are probaby scammers, particually as they had my son's name and enquired about a declined card, which was later found to be a hoax after contacting Halifax directly. Beware of giving out information, even if they claim to have your details, and always verify by ringing the official number on your bank statment.
