An automated message warned of potential credit card fraud and asked me to press any key. It seemed suspicious, so I disconnected and contacted my bank. They confirmed there was an issue with my card but couldn't verify if the calling number was theirs.
Lloyds fraud call – is it legit or a scam? - +44 333 045 9502 (0333 045 9502)
Resumen — +443330459502
Opinión del experto
The number +44 3330 459502 shows up a lot as a Lloyds Bank fraud impersonator. Most callers report being asked for personal details, pressured to press keys, or told their card was compromised – then steered onto a fake support line. A few say the call was genuine, but the weight of evidence points to a clever scam rather than an official Lloyds line. If you get a call like this, hang up immediately, verify any claim by contacting Lloyds on the number printed on your card or via the official app, and never share passwords or PINs over the phone. Blocking the number and reporting it can also stop further harassment.

Turns out it's actually Lloyds Bank. They advised me to call through the app or the number on my card when I contacted them.

This number has called a couple of times, but I don't answer unknown numbers, and my cards are always secure anyway, so I've blocked them.

On 9th March 2024, between 1137 and 1445, this number called my home phone. A message was left claiming to be from Lloyds Bank fraud department. This happened after losing my mobile and using another phone to locate it. The process was stopped due to a failed security check. The website I used didn't record the number. When I contacted Lloyds, the representative found no record of the message or payment request. No funds were taken from my account.
I received two calls from this number this afternoon, and when I returned the call from a different line, a slick voice claimed to be from the Lloyds fraud department. They asked me to press a number and answer some questions, which seemed like a standard scam setup. I'm wary of such calls, especially since I used my card on Amazon earlier this week, and I've seen similar responses after making purchases online before. If it's genuine, the real Lloyds bank will contact me directly. For now, I'd advise visiting your local bank branch to report such incidents.
Apparently, they are from Lloyds fraud prevention team, looking for someone named James O'Callan, but they must have the wrong number because no one by that name lives in my household, it's a bit of a nuisence.
