Register your number with the Telephone Preference Service immediately if not already done, to curb unwanted calls. These persistent callers impersonate housing authorities, probing for personal details like landlord info or WhatsApp access, which screams scam tactics. Block the number straight away and report it to Action Fraud for investigation. Never share sensitive data over unsolicited calls; hang up and verify independently. If they push for apps or meetings, that's a massive red flag—genuine services don't operate like that. Stay vigilant to protect your privacy and avoid potential identity theft.

A prerecorded greeting opened the call, claiming the caller was an independent firm working with Housing Authority tenants to resolve property issues. They transferred me to a supervisor with a strong Indian accent. I kept the line active to see where it would go. They asked for my landlord’s name (which I don’t have) and fabricated a story, then urged me to add them on WhatsApp. I said I don’t use WhatsApp, yet they insisted they could see I do. When I questioned how they knew, they accused me of spinning a tale. I called them out as scammers, which provoked abusive language from them. No legitimate company would behave like that—steer clear, it’s a scam.
