Fraudsters pretending to be EE staff
Just a few minutes back, the number 020 8129 4570 contacted me, and it screamed scam. The woman, speaking with an Indian accent, said she was from EE. I asked her name, but couldn't make it out. Then I requested her surname, and after a short delay, she said 'John.' Figuring she was fibbing, I hung up straight away.
Claimed to be from an Indian EE call centre, I cut them off and checked here—it's a scammer, so blocked the number. Using a pay-as-you-go phone, not interested.
Promising a 50% discount on EE bills. Began asking for personal information. Background noise suggested it was a scam operation.
