Below is my confirmation. Unsolicited calls are not something I engage with, so I let it go to voicemail. The message was left by someone with a foreign accent, likely from a busy call center. They provided what appears to be a legitimate number related to utility bills. Alarmingly, the inquiry was about a charity I’m involved with, and my contact information is not widely known outside of the charity, except to regulatory bodies. They must have accessed leaked information or conducted extensive research to find these details.
It appears that IP Voice Networks Ltd, the company that sold this number, primarily deals with scammers, providing them with lists of active numbers to target, including landline and cell phone numbers.
A message was left on my answerphone by a male caller claiming to be Shren, stating that my energy account was up for renewal and requesting a callback; however, the call appeared to be a scam, given the heavy accent and the fact that my energy supplier would not contact me in such a manner.
Jackie called me, asking about nuisance calls, and i think she might be from a company that sold us a call blocking phone, or maybe she was just trying to be clever, i told her the phone was still in its box, which is the truth
