Uzman görüşü
The consensus is that +442073656004 is most often linked to Barclays – either a genuine outbound line used by staff or, more frequently, a number spoofed by fraudsters. If you get a call asking for personal details, DOB or sort‑code, treat it as a scam until you’ve verified it through the official Barclays website or app. Hang up, block the number and call back on the number that appears on the back of your card. Never share security information on a cold call – a quick check can save you from identity theft.

Barclays general line
The authenticity of this Barclays number is uncertain, as some users have reported positive interactions while others suspect a scam; the strong accent of the person who left a message made it difficult to understand their name.
This is the Barclays fraud team. Initially hesitant since it was regarding my company's commercial Barclaycard, they only requested my email address to verify my identity. They provided details of three transactions, which reassured me of their legitimacy. They had blocked an employee's card due to a payment to Nike that was flagged as unusual for an accountancy practice.
Having recently opened a Barclays account, I was contacted by this number, but no message was left, which is unusual for a bank, leading me to question its legitimacy

I recieved a call from this number on 7/10/24, but I didnt anser as I didnt recognise it; I had spoken to Barclays about 10-15 minutes prior and was expecting a callback from them, but when I contacted their fraud line, they told me it wasnt a genuin call

This number is likely a scammer.
The caller impersonated someone from Barclays. After verifying with the bank, I found out they never reached out to me, indicating this is a scam.
Barclays Bank uses this automated response when a callback is missed. However, upon calling the number, it doesn't allow for a conversation, merely stating that there's no cause for concern and that they will call back later.
I received a call from Barclays' fraud prevention team regarding a large transfer intended for my solicitor related to a property purchase. They conducted a very thorough and professional security check, which impressed me. After verification, my payment was processed without issues, and a subsequent payment was made the following day without raising any concerns since I had informed the fraud department of the amount.
A fraudulent call claiming to be from Barclays, seeking to extract security information from unsuspecting victims
This number is from Barclays Bank, but I'm not sure why they're calling me since I don't have an account there. It seemed legitimate enough, though. I'll wait for them to follow up in writing.
Following a call from this number last week, which ended abruptly after a recorded message, I received another call a few minutes later from someone claiming to be from Barclays, seeking to discuss security questions. After expressing my discomfort, the caller offered to send a letter and then terminated the call. Fortunately, I checked this site beforehand.

The caller claimed to be from the Barclays crime prevention team, but I am unsure of their true intentions.
This is Barclays crime prevention. I questioned them and put the phone down on them but rang Barclays crime prevention and it was confirmed they had rung me to question a large payment I had made which they suspected may have been fraudulent . They had put a block on my account until I was able to confirm details. Very impressed with the way it was handled.

The caller pretended to be from Barclaycard, they asked for me by name, but I pretended to be someone else and they told me to call the number on the back of the card
Sounded very believable. Glad I checked the number. Banks advise they won’t ask for personal details.
Appears to be a fraudulent number. I have received two calls from it recently, both times they disconnected after the initial automated message claiming to be from Barclays, leading me to believe this is a scam to check if the call is answered.
