A person claiming to be a local energy representative made the call, an introduction I've heard before, prompting me to ask them to hang up as I was expecting an urgent call.

It appears that the number +442070704001 is being used for a loft insulation scam, where the caller claims that the recipient's loft insulation is out of date and offers to install new insulation at a cost. However, this is likely a phishing scam attempting to extract money from unsuspecting individuals. The caller has been reported to be harassing and irritating, making repeated calls to landlines and ignoring the TPS register. To avoid falling prey to such scams, it is essential to be cautious when receiving calls from unknown numbers and to never provide personal or financial information. If you receive a call from this number, it is advised to hang up immediately and report the incident to the relevant authorities, such as the National Cyber Security Centre. Additionally, registering with the TPS and using call blocking services can help reduce the number of unwanted calls. Remember to always be vigilant and prioritise your online security to avoid falling victim to such scams.

Receiving multiple calls to my landline at different times of day, all from the East Anglia area.
The 'Chris your local energy advisor' scam has been targeting me with multiple calls, frequently changing the caller ID to evade blockers and disregarding the TPS register
A call was made on 09DEC24, but we did not connect due to the answering machine, thankfully avoided due to the vigilance of this community
After receiving several calls in a row, I decided to investigate. I direct all unknown numbers to my voicemail; if it's legitimate, they'll leave a message. Unfortunately, this rarely happens. Some of these numbers have been active for years, which is puzzling. I thought the TPS would handle such cases. Complete waste of time. Quack Quack 🦆
Despite being registered with the TPS, i recieved a call on my landline on 5th December 2024 from this number, which i believe is a scam and potensially dangerus
Upon picking up, there was silence on the other end.
This is a scam related to loft insulation; it's essential to hang up, as they charge for installation and then again for removal after a few years
Scams cannot be halted by TPS alone, and this number appears to be involved in several fraudulent activities. To combat these, block the number and report the scammers to the authorities. Visit the under-publised National Cyber Security Centre website for more details: 'https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams'. Key steps include reporting suspicious calls to 7726 or using your phone's spam reporting feature. Ensure you receive confirmation of your report.
The phone rang early in the morning, when you usualy get calls about family emergencys, so i answered without checking the number, wont be doing that again.

The notorious energy consultant caller, associated with the number 020 7070 4001, has struck again, exhibiting scamming behaviour
Somebody told me my loft insulation was out of date and would cause condensation and damp, I just told them to shut it and hung up, definately a scam
My landline has been bombarded with repeated calls daily, clearly an autodial system at work, which I'd gladly put to an inventive use if given the chance
There was no one on the other end. Very frustrating.
Upon answering the landline, a male voice greeted me twice without introducing himself, then abruptly disconnected the call.
My answer phone picked up the call from this number, but they didnt leave a message, so I dont know what they wanted
The call to my landline was persistent, ringing for a long time even though I didn't answer due to not recognising the number.
Someone named Chris, claiming to be my local energy advisor, introduced himself and then hung up
Repeated calls have been missed from these individuals while I was out. Each one begins with the 02070704 sequence, followed by varying final digits in a rotational manner. I've yet to have a conversation with them, but their persistence is notable - today alone, they made a series of calls starting at 07.38 this morning and lasting for around an hour and a half - for instance, 02070704026, then 020070704001, followed by 011, 023, 017, and so forth. It’s unclear if they are fraudulent, but if they aren't, their behaviour is both harassing and maddening.
