Scammers ring with relentless persistence, often posing as lottery reps or energy consultants to hook you in. These nuisances dial repeatedly, ignoring blocks and pleas to stop, turning your phone into a buzzing nightmare. From silent hangs to sly requests for personal details like DOB or bank info, it's all a phishing ploy. Don't engage—just hang up and block straight away. Report to your provider like BT for better protection, and consider apps that flag spam numbers. Staying vigilant keeps these pests at bay without feeding their game.

They persistently called throughout the entire day.
The caller claimed to be our energy consultant for the postcode area; when I asked for the base address they said, "Right, we'll leave it there then," and then hung up. Pure nuisance.
Yet another scammer.
No sound was heard when I answered.
When questioned about being a credit‑card holder at this address, I told them I wasn't interested in scams and ended the call.
The phone system flagged the call as likely a scam; I answered briefly, then hung up to block the number.
This morning an Asian‑accented gentleman rang, telling me I was eligible for a Medi‑Alert pendant and requesting my date of birth. I told him no and asked him to remove my number – now blocked. Looks like a phishing attempt; beware!
A lottery scam call.
Our household has endured nine calls today and the same pattern for a week, despite BT call‑blocking; we're lodging a complaint as we pay for the service.
A lottery scam; I’ve blocked it.
Once they confirm your number is active, the calls never stop. I answered after returning from a holiday, assuming the London number related to car parking, but they’ve called three times a week. Despite repeated requests to be removed, they keep calling, swapping numbers each week. I’ve blocked and reported at least seven spam numbers, yet new ones appear. This is far from legitimate behaviour.
A social lottery call.
The person claimed to represent the lottery, offering ten free tickets and requesting my bank details, insisting I was unaware of the offer. They called back, and I’m relieved I verified before sharing any information!
