Said they were from UK Now, but the accent, background noise, and poor connection screamed scam. They only wanted 40 seconds for 5 questions, promising never to call again. First question was about magazines – felt like a tactic to seem legit. When I asked why they needed this info, they had no answers, just said the call was recorded. Very suspiciuos.

The TPS only block legitamate sales calls and charity donation requests, but dont stop scam calls, they must be reported to the system, you can find the details on the National Cyber Security Centre website, under the PHISHING section: 'https:// www.ncsc.gov.uk/ collection/ phishing-scams', the main points are to text the call details to 7726 or report via your phone's spam report system, and check for acknowledgement

This number rang me today - 0204 571 3487 - and it was definately a scam. I answered and said, 'Metropolitan Police here, how can I assist you?' The man started stuttering and then claimed he had dialled the wrong number, after greeting me with 'Good morning, mama, how’s your day?' I’ve never seen someone hang up so quickly. These annoying individuals should get a proper job and leave people be. Karma’s a b… and if it doesn’t catch up with them, it might with their family someday. Please watch out for this number; I’ve also reported it to .gov.

Fraudsters claiming to be from o2 offering a discount deal. I declined, and they responded by saying they’d already earned a year’s pay in a month before hanging up. 🤬
