There was no voicemail left on the answering machine.
A landline rang, no answer was given and no message was left. The line was active for two hours with about fifty checks – clearly a VoIP scam, masquerading as a London source. Such calls are hazardous for unsuspecting people; VoIP should be outlawed for these deceitful uses.
