The Uber Eats driver phoned because he didn’t want to hop out of his car to finish the drop‑off!
It turned out to be Uber Eats confirming my delivery address because the driver's GPS had sent him to the wrong postcode. Their automated greeting even mentioned the call being recorded for training "Porpoises". Handy for those delivering to houseboats, I suppose.
