Expert Opinion
The calls coming from +442032890501 are almost certainly a scam masquerading as American Express fraud‑prevention. Scammers often claim a recent payment – here a £320 gym charge – and warn that your card will be blocked unless you act fast. They may also throw in the National Crime Agency to sound official. Never share personal details or confirm card information over the phone, and always hang up and call the genuine number on the back of your card to verify. If you’ve already given information, contact your card issuer immediately and monitor your accounts closely.

Recent Reports for 020 3289 0501
A caller claiming to be from the AMEX fraud team said a £320 payment was made to David Lloyd James gym in Liverpool. They alleged identity fraud, saying my card would be blocked. I needed to destroy it, and a new one would arrive in 1-3 days. They mentioned the National Crime Agency would call from 0207 097 8529, but I didn't answer as I was busy. An online chat with AMEX revealed no record of this fraud. The caller sounded British Pakistani from the Midlands, not Indian.
Apparently these numbers are generated through services like Skype or VOIP, alot of people use them.
Following a call about alleged fraudulent activity on my Amex card, this number contacted me regarding a security breach, leading to a scam that resulted in significant financial loss.
