A warning to others. Recently, I received a call from an 020 number purporting to be Klarna, which had my address and personal details. They alleged that someone attempted to acquire a black card in my name for £1000. The caller mentioned they would send a text to my phone from the Klarna ID and requested the pass code. Naturally, I questioned them. The young man spoke well, displaying understanding and reassurance. I mentioned I would look up the number to check if it was linked to the Klarna contact centre or if I should hang up and call Klarna directly to confirm it wasn't a scam. While on loudspeaker, I searched the number online and found it labelled as a known scam number, linked to Vodafone LTD, prompting him to hang up. Extremely convincing!!!
