After contacting Currys officially they confirmed the number is genuine, coming from their Care and Repair Service. They said it’s standard after a purchase, sending details to the team who then ring you about a Care and Repair Plan. Unless their Live Chat is bogus – which seems unlikely given the hoops I jumped through – I see no reason the number is fake, mate.
