I didn't pick up because I didn't recognise the number, left no voicemail and later checked here – I bought a new cooker from Currys a few hours ago and declined the insurance. The number has now been blocked.

Oddly enough, the same +441916407418 keeps turning up right after a Currys purchase, often pushing extra insurance. It’s a classic case of post‑sale telemarketing that relies on data shared between a retailer and third‑party insurers. Before you hand over any details, ring the official Currys customer line to confirm the call’s legitimacy. Treat any unsolicited request for bank details or credit‑card numbers as a red flag and refuse to provide them. Keep a record of the call, block the number, and consider filing a complaint with the ICO if you suspect your personal data has been misused. Regularly review your privacy settings and opt‑out of marketing lists where possible.

Like other reports, I purchased an item online from Currys just before noon today, declined their product insurance, and have already received two calls from this number within the last seven hours… definitely my last purchase from them.
This morning I bought something from Currys and declined the insurance they offered. Being chased with cold calls to push unwanted cover feels disgusting; I’ve endured hard‑selling before. I’ll block the number but hope I won’t face another push when I collect the item.
I received a call from this number but didn’t answer; like others, it came after buying a laptop from Currys. After reading the reviews I’m glad it isn’t a scam, though the cold call is annoying. I’ll block the number.
Three days after buying from Currys, I declined any care‑and‑repair insurance, and today an unknown number rang my mobile, which I didn’t answer.
I missed a call today after buying an item from Currys online last night without insurance. It’s obvious my data was shared, but I only answer numbers in my contacts or expected calls.
Just bought from Curry’s and got two calls from this number today, cheers.
Earlier I received a call after ordering from Curry’s; they rattled off my order number and item details. Feels sketchy how much they knew, cheers.
I caught the call just as it cut off, so I blocked it straight away. I’m curious whether my details were compromised after a recent Currys purchase, especially since the caller claimed to be from “Currys”.
The day after my Currys purchase, a call arrived trying to sell me insurance and register for care. Fortunately the appliance came with a two‑year guarantee, so I didn’t need extra cover. It wasn’t a full‑blown scam, but they were still pushing unnecessary money.
Got a call from this number before my order arrived two days later, cheers.
Just a note about Curry’s, cheers.
Having just bought from Curry’s, I didn’t answer but reckon it’s legit, cheers.
After contacting Currys officially they confirmed the number is genuine, coming from their Care and Repair Service. They said it’s standard after a purchase, sending details to the team who then ring you about a Care and Repair Plan. Unless their Live Chat is bogus – which seems unlikely given the hoops I jumped through – I see no reason the number is fake, mate.

A call arrived a day after my dealings with Currys, and I didn’t answer.
No voicemail was left after the missed call. As with other comments, I’d just ordered from Currys and declined their insurance, so I suspect they were trying to hard‑sell me coverage.
A product ordered for my parents at lunchtime resulted in a call around 6 pm from this number; they insisted on speaking to the order name, couldn’t hear, and then hung up. Currys need to sort this out.
After my appliance was delivered by Currys, the driver called me from this number before leaving.
Purchased an Apple Watch yesterday, then got a call claiming they knew I’d bought one, said delivery was due today and asked about insurance – I’d already sorted that, quite creepy, mate.
After buying an item from Currys, I missed a call from this number; companies should not be allowed to sell your “required” data to scammers.
