Over the past three days I’ve endured several nuisance calls attempting to extract bank‑card details. Callers already knew part of my number, my name and address after a recent online purchase from John Lewis. This morning a man identifying himself as ‘George from John Lewis’ called; I asked him to ring back after 11 am. I dialled 1471 to verify the number, which might have been spoofed. Recent issues with my BT landline include an engineer claiming he installed something on my computer. I’ll provide updates if the situation escalates – it’s problematic as I can’t order food or medication online nor shop in person.
